In the Mail app on your Mac, do any of the following: Show the sidebar: Choose View Show Mailbox List or click Mailboxes in the Favorites bar.

If you drag it all the way to the left, it hides the sidebar.

Hide the sidebar: Choose View Hide Mailbox List or click Mailboxes in the Favorites bar again.

To change the size of the sidebar icons, choose Apple menu System Preferences, click General, then select a sidebar icon size.

Include related messages Include related messages (those located in other mailboxes ) when viewing a conversation.

Mark all messages as read when opening a conversation Mark all unread messages in a conversation as read when you view the primary message of the conversation.

Show most recent message at the top Display the most recent message in a conversation first in the preview area.

You can sort, filter and otherwise change how messages appear in the message list.
